I'VE GROWN ROOTS IN INDIANA
While I was born on an Air Force base in Texas and raised outside Chicago, Indiana has been home for 26 years. I bring a broad background in business and community leadership. I earned a master’s degree in Information and Communication Sciences from Ball State University.
For 17 years, I worked as a network architect and senior program manager at Accenture, one of the largest global consulting firms. My work focused on large-scale client network installations, program management, project budgeting, and training development. In 2001, my brother and I founded an international award-winning commercial photography business. Over the years, we have photographed many of Indiana’s largest events. During the pandemic, I photographed more than 650 families from their front doorsteps, standing on the roof of my truck to keep everyone safe.
I have also led fundraisers that raised more than $250,000 for causes close to my heart, including Habitat for Humanity Women's Build, Our Military Kids, Wish Upon A Wedding, Moms Demand Action and Gleaners Food Bank.
CONTRIBUTIONS + LEADERSHIP ROLES
I am solution-oriented, collaborative, and fiercely resourceful. I bring the energy and commitment needed to represent my community well. Leaders should be accessible if they truly serve their constituents, and I intend to be present and reachable throughout this campaign and after I am elected. Here is a little more about me.
Small-biz owner
Along with my brother, we created award-winning photography company, Nathaniel Edmunds Photography. For more than 25 years, we have grown our business while capturing some of the state’s largest corporate and community events.
26-year HOOSIER
My husband, Tim, and I moved to Zionsville from Chicago to support his military service, put down roots, and raise a family. We chose Zionsville for its village charm, strong schools, parks and green space, and proximity to the airport, all of which still remain important.
MOTHER OF FOUR
I am the mother of four young adults, and life in our home has always been full of activity. Our oldest lives in Chicago and our three youngest attend Indiana University. By the time our twins graduate, we will have had a kid at IU for 11 straight years. Go Hoosiers!
MILITARY FAMILY
The military has been woven into our marriage and family life. My husband is a Colonel in the Army Reserves, and we have made many sacrifices for his service, especially when he took Indiana's first MEDEVAC unit to Iraq. We are proud of his service.
FAMILYPRINT
My husband and I co-authored a book titled FamilyPrint, based on a blog we wrote during the Iraq War. It is a “he said, she said” account of his deployment, when he led Indiana’s first Blackhawk unit to Iraq.
The coffee-table book was published by the The Indianapolis Business Journal and raised more than $30,000 for Our Military Kids. We still have many copies available, and I would be happy to share one with anyone who would like one.
AT OUR DOORSTEP
During the pandemic, my brother and I created At Our Doorstep, a project that took us across Indiana to photograph families during one of the most challenging times in our nation’s history. Through this effort, we raised more than $7,000 for Gleaners Food Bank. Reader’s Digest Magazine selected our movement to represent Indiana in its feature “The Nicest Places in America.”
BOARD POSITIONS
Boards seats for the following organizations:
- Board of Discover Boone Co.
- Zionsville's Economic Redevelopment Authority.
- Indiana's Wish Upon A Wedding, which grants dream weddings to couples facing terminal illness or life-altering health circumstances.
- International Live Events Association provides education and networking opportunities for those in the events industry.
volunteerism
I have enjoyed serving our community by leading many volunteer opportunities important to me, such as:
- annually leading a Habitat for Humanity Women's Build
- teaching Zionsville history to third graders
- teaching PE after the referendum failed and our school didn’t have funding for a gym teacher
- serving on the ZCHS After Prom Committee since 2014 to keep all of our children safe.
